Our speaker will  be Barbara Hansman, Project Manager, Special Projects – Land Records Applications for the Administrative Office of the Courts, Judicial Information Systems. Barbara will be presenting an update on the e-recording project.
Barbara has managed the land records for about 14 years, and has worked proactively to make the land record system accurate, timely, and efficient, and to push for eRecording.

Education Objective:

  • Facilitate, sponsor, and promote educational events that will continue to enhance our industry and maintain our professional standards


  • To offer live, take home, and online hours of Continuing Education.
  • Use and promote our web site to meet the evolving educational needs of our members by increasing on-line course availability to at least 8 hours.
  • To seek out and recruit Attorneys practicing in peripheral areas to teach classes relating to, influencing, and affecting the Title Industry.
  • Continue to offer classes and/or webinars to keep the industry abreast of changes involving the CFPB legislation and the new Integrated Disclosure.
  • Revise, update, and convert to a webinar the Nuts and Bolts class so that our members have a basic tool to use when training new employees.

To register at the MLTA member rate:  You must be either:
a) an Individual member, or b) employed full-time (W-2) by an MLTA member company.

No personal checks will be accepted.
Payment-in-full is required prior to the class. Seating is limited.
Seats cannot be reserved without FULL payment. Walk-in registrants will not be accepted.


$50 Cancellation fee applies to all classes. Cancellation notice must be received by e-mail  to at least one week prior to the class; otherwise, no refund will be given.  


$50 Rescheduling fee applies to all classes  – If you reschedule fewer than ten days prior to the class, for ANY reason, this fee applies.

Pending CE Approval

Each program that is submitted for CE credit is “pending approval” until approved by the appropriate group:  DC, VA Bar, Vertafore (formerly Sircon), Virginia Insurance Commission, etc. Approved courses will be noted with a course number.

Partial credit

Partial credit cannot be given. To receive credit, you must arrive on time and complete the entire course.

CLTP Discount

If you are an MLTA Certified Land Title Professional (CLTP), remember to ask for your 15% discount. If you are not a CLTP, learn more about it at

Inclement Weather

If the county government offices where the class is being held are closed because of inclement weather, the class will be cancelled. Rescheduling or refund will be determined after that event.
